About

We are part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA).  Our 9:30am Sunday morning communion service is held in the round amidst beautifully designed murals. Our worship is informal but liturgical, intimate yet lively. Each Sunday we average between 40-60 people who represent a larger community of caring and support.  We are a Reconciling in Christ congregation, welcoming those who may have felt excluded by the church because of sexual orientation.

Our Mission

To incarnate the gracious, healing, and reconciling presence of God through sacramental worship, congregational nurture, and ministries of peace, mercy, and justice for all creation.

Our Method

Sacramental Worship…
  • that honors and embraces the mysterious presence of the Sacred within the gathered community.
  • that illuminates the liturgical year as it reflects the life of Faith’s community.
  • that is consistent with our Lutheran traditions and theology of Word and Sacrament.
  • that incorporates a variety of music expressing the theology, diversity and concerns of the congregation.
  • that works toward inclusive language in worship.
Congregational Nurture…
  • that provides a safe and healing environment in which people of any race, sexual orientation, gender identity, social or economic status can be nourished in their journey of faith.
  • that offers Christian Education and spiritual growth opportunities for youth and adults.
  • that provides small group opportunities for fellowship, prayer, Biblical study and support for ministry.
  • that strives to be a gift-evoking community that challenges one another to discern and use our gifts as needed in a local and global context.
Ministries of Peace, Mercy, and Justice…
  • that encourage and empower us to live nonviolently as faithful stewards in an increasingly conflicted and materialistic world.
  • that promote a commitment to sustaining and protecting our environment.
  • that encourage members to express their passion and gifts in personal, congregational, and community ministries.
  • that extend and expand our financial commitment to benevolence agendas reflecting our social justice ministries and global concerns.

Our Vision

Living in God’s Amazing Grace, we envision Faith Lutheran Church as a diverse beacon of hope, healing, and reconciliation in a broken world.

Recognizing the need for followers to share their faith in the risen Christ, Faith Lutheran aspires to be a public church, empowering parishioners to become God’s servants in Christ’s commission to share the Gospel message of good news to the poor, healing to the sick and broken, and justice to the oppressed.

We aspire to do this by being a transformational church to meet the changing needs of Sacramental Worship, Congregational Nurture, and Ministries of Peace, Mercy, and Justice as called by the Holy Spirit.

Pastor Aaron joined the Faith Lutheran community in September 2025. Before coming to Leavenworth, he lived in the Milwaukee and Chicago areas serving as church musician and summer camp program director. Music and outdoor ministries continue to be sources of joy and inspiration for Aaron. He was born in southern California but doesn’t remember much, since his family moved to South Dakota when he was 4. He grew up in Sioux Falls, attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, and went to the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago for seminary. He loves hiking, skiing, and being creative through music and other means. You can reach Pastor Aaron using the contact information below.
